Isabelian Evelyn Tetehu is the driving force behind this project. She has long been interested in the cultural heritage of her home island of Isabel and is keen to engage other isabelians in her work. She organised the village workshops through which emerged the information and photos that can be found on these pages.

Ane Straume is a Norwegian anthropologist who have spend several years living in the Solomons and in Kia.  She has worked closely with Evelyn and has been involved in all but one of the Isabel village cultural heritage workshops. Ane is currently at the University of Bergen in Norway but is involved in facilitating and managing the process of getting the information gathered during previous workshops online.

Graham Baines, Evelyn’s husband, lived 9 years in Solomon Islands and knows Isabel well. He provides general support regarding structure and process, while Ben Burt, of the British Museum is also standing by to assist.

Furthermore it is important to mention that this work could not have been done without the support of the Isabel Council of Chiefs, especially through the continued efforts and interest displayed by Deputy Paramount Chief, Ambrose Bugotu.

And finally, much of the information displayed in these pages are the result of the hard work of local Isabelians who through participating in workshops, taking an interest in the cultural heritage of Isabel and sharing their knowledge have enabled this website.
